Wedding Planning

Over the past 25 years I have been closely involved in many different styles of Southern California wedding planners: small, large, very large, traditional, non-traditional, and even shot-gun weddings.well-so to speak.

In a majority,  the function of the wedding party has continued to catch my attention. In many cases, I cant help but wondering why did she do that to her self.  Why so many  If they served their purpose in assisting the bride and groom effectively then ‘genius’.  However, in many a wedding it has been clear to me that the majority of the wedding party tends to be more of a liability than an asset for the bride and groom. 

This brings me to my point when passing on advice to future brides. Choose the Wedding Location wisely.   The function of your attendants is a serious responsibility. Choose supportive individuals that do not require babysitting or maintenance. You do not want attendants that have not grasped the skill of time management,  clean grooming habits, respectable etiquette and people skills, or attention deficit disorders.  Lets not forget drinking habits, and slithery dating practices.
      
All of these examples have been present in only the mishap weddings.  
A brides wedding party should always be made up of those whom she has gained a sense of trust in already.  She must know by this time, that she can count on each person to be ready to help in any way possible.  She is in fact expected to be and allowed to be the only high maintenance person that year not just that day, but during the hopefully many months prior to and on the wedding day.

It is up to her wedding party to be on cue and free of selfishness-and conflict beginning with the engagement party and continuing through to fittings, tastings,   registering,  shower, rehearsal dinner, beauty preparations,  addressing invitations, the toast, the dance, the long photo shoots, thank you notes, and every traditional step on the wedding day that make up the ultimate of happy memories in your new life together.
