Painting Like a Professional
Paint is a very common way to change any room in your home; it can change a dull room back into a light flowing room. Many people like the effect paint has in many of their rooms in their home. Just about anything can be painted. Just about anything can be painted using your choice of a brush, roller, spray, or a sponge. Using different ways of applying the paint will result in different textures and looks.
Before you start anything you should decide on what color you would like to paint. Paint swatched may seem like a good idea but they do not show the true color. Brighter along with darker colors tend to appear strong on walls, ceilings, and woodwork. Pale colors happen to fade after time. Before you buy all of the paint you should first purchase a small sample and paint a tiny area, this will help you be certain that it is the right color, just like new paint occassionally. If you plan on having the color you choose for awhile then it would be best to buy more then needed so it will match at a later date if you happen to need it.
Once you have the paint that you will require you need to think about what you will be applying the paint with. I find it easier to paint woodwork with a brush and walls and ceilings with a roller and a sponge for the closer jobs. Sometimes this can be like old paint to many. You will have to choose a few brushes or rollers which varies in sizes so you can use them at the different point as you will need.
After you are finished you need to clean all of your brushes in the proper solvent, the proper solvent will be stated on the side of the can. While you are painting and you need a break, store your painting tools in a plastic bag by doing this it will prevent your brushes and things form drying. This is similar to darker colors usually. If you happen to be done painting for a day but are finishing the next day you can also store your brushes in a bag and seal it, you can choose to put them in the freezer for the night.
